Our Facilities

KAAP Child and Family advocacy center is a comprehensive, “one-stop” victim focused program that allows law enforcement, child protection professionals, prosecutors, victim advocates, medical professionals, and mental health providers to work together when intervening and investigating violent crimes against children and adults.

This center has adequately trained staff available Monday-Friday, 8 am – 4 pm, our crisis hotline is available 24/7 and after hour scheduled appointments.

All aspects of the facility reflect a friendly and safe environment with special attention to children’s needs offering a Noah’s Arch theme playroom and examination room with a “hippo” for an exam table. All children are provided with a stuffed animal or toy of their choice and a comfort blanket.

Throughout the victim’s journey from victimization to healing, advocates walk beside the victim assuring they are not alone nor at fault, knowledge and insurance of understanding of the forensic interview/exam, know of victims’ rights and understand the judicial system, assist with Order of Protection/Injunction against Harassment, Victims Compensation, safety planning, access to emergency shelter, case management and on-going support as needed.
